Changing the Way Businesses, Organizations and Individuals Address Domestic Violence
As a result of Coalition Workplace Training...
  • 86% of managers and supervisors recognize signs of domestic violence
  • 86% of managers and supervisors believe that a workplace domestic violence policy increases productivity and enhances safety
  • 88% of managers and supervisors are more likely to talk to another about abuse

Domestic Violence – Use of violence to have power and control over the partner, including intimidation, emotional abuse, isolation, blaming, economic abuse, threats, physical and sexual abuse

  • Domestic violence occurs in all kinds of families, regardless of age, race, gender, economic status, educational background, religion, sexual orientation
  • 1 in 4 women have been victims of severe physical violence by an intimate partner while 1 in 7 men experienced severe physical violence by an intimate partner (CDC. 2010 Summary Report)
  • 1 in 6 women and 1 in 19 men in the U.S. have experienced stalking victimization at some point during their lifetime in which they felt very fearful or believed that they or someone close to them would be harmed or killed. (CDC. 2010 Summary Report)
  • Domestic violence impacts businesses directly (deaths and injuries) and indirectly (increased absenteeism, healthcare costs, employee turnover, risk of violence coming into the workplace and reduced productivity)
